Wilderness Retreat and Development Center (WRDC), Lawson Missouri, is a place of rest and renewal for over 3,000 people every year. WRDC is a 320 acre facility with a 10-acre lake, and is owned and operated by Missouri United Methodist Camping and Retreat Ministries. Just north of Kansas City, the center - accredited by the American Camp Association - sets its sights to add year-round programs and venues.

Wilderness is place where summer camps provide transformational experiences for campers of all ages. It is a year around retreat facility that provides a peaceful place for solitude and reflection that enhances the ability to grow closer to God. Volunteer groups share their God given talents by helping add new facilities, while helping to maintain and repair the existing facilities.
